Fiona Lees

Born in Whakatū Nelson in 1971, Fiona initially studied Pharmacy which took her around Aotearoa NZ and abroad, working in healthcare. On return to New Zealand in 2007 she embarked on a new journey, studying visual art and design at NMIT.

In her art practice Fiona works in a range of media from painting and ceramics to photography; making reference to contemporary culture,spirituality, and the world of pharmaceuticals. She has lately developed an interest in native plants and their healing properties, a natural extension of her prior training and love of the still life tradition. She also currently works part-time as a pharmacist.
